Hello and welcome back 😊 Although SSES is open all year round, regular readers may have noticed we did not post anything during August.
Much as we enjoy writing the posts, knowing that there will be reduced readers because of holidays, and our team also needed some time off we reconsidered our twice-weekly posts. We had planned to repost some of our most popular blog posts, but in the end decided to completely stop, and I think in future years, this will become a theme.
We thought this post would be a good opportunity to revisit exactly who SS Educational Services Ltd is.
We were approved as an End Point Assessment Organisation by Ofqual in May 2021. Both the owners and the Board members had a very clear picture of what we wanted for our EPAO:
- Sector specific was an absolute must. The owners have a combined 70 years within early years, children and youth. We agreed we wanted to deliver just standards that fitted within our experiences, as we felt apprentices, employers and training providers would appreciate our passion for the areas
- Remaining small. We have 3 small teams:
- Programme Support Team who look after Pre-Gateway
- Assessment Team that focus only on post-Gateway
- Business Development
- As each team is small clients have the opportunity to develop relationships that mean they are not having to repeat themselves during every communication
- Having values that we all agree to work by:
- S – SUPPORT – Apprentices receive support throughout, and, with a low turnover of staff, means continuity as well
- S – SKILLED – SSES have only skilled, experienced, team members, with current competencies to guide through the EPA
- EXCELLENCE – The service you receive from SSES will be nothing short of, well, excellent
- SUCCESS – Each apprentice is unique and we will endeavour to support every individual to a successful outcome
- Offer a reasonably priced service without impacting on quality. And because of our team and values, we are proud of the extra mile we go to with all aspects of the EPA.
Our team consists of 2 owners that have owned day nurseries, employed apprentices, qualified as assessor and teacher, consulted on the development of training provision within both ITP and HEI. More recently in their careers they have become foster carers. All of this experience makes them perfect to deliver a niche EPA for early years, children and youth.
The board and team members include family and friends, all with apprenticeship and/or sector experience. Our newest recruit – who has already been with us for a year – is an apprentice and who tells us he feels part of our extended family 😊
