Some months when we are planning are blog posts, we struggle to find enough content. We agreed at the beginning not to have every blog just about trying to persuade readers to use our extremely professional, competitively priced, sector specialist End Point Assessment Organisation 😉
So instead of always trying to persuade everyone to use us for their Level 3 Early Years Educator EPA 😉 we like to talk about learning outcomes for early years, special days of interest and anything else that comes to mind!
Going back to struggling to find topics – not a problem this month! So today, we are covering 3 celebrations in one:
St Patrick’s Day is today. We have chosen to acknowledge this as our Marketing Manager, Joe, will be celebrating in style in Ireland. St Patrick’s Day is celebrated globally, and it is seen as a cheerful day. With everything that children and young people have experienced and witnessed over the past few years, how positive to have something that makes you smile. And, although they are hopefully not marking the day with Guiness, early years up and down the country will be dressing up, baking cakes with green toppings, or hunting nursery gardens for that 4-leafed clover!
Tomorrow has 2 events going on at the same day, Comic Relief, or more commonly known as Red Nose Day and Global Recycling Day. We chose these 2 as because they are both encouraging children and young people to think of the world outside of their own environment.
Global Recyling Day was first introduced as recently as 2018. Most children and young people growing up today will never have known a world where we threw away everything, for them recycling is second nature. But just because we know we should do it, is not the same as actively supporting reusing, reducing and recycling.
Comic Relief started back in 1985, and has since raised over £1 billion for projects in the UK and Africa. Introducing comedy and comedians as a way to engage with global issues has been instrumental in the support garnered from schools. We’re guessing there won’t be many schools, nurseries and other establishments in the UK that will not be engaging in some ways to fundraise.
