As an End Point Assessment Organisation, we fully support apprentices. Regular readers will know we currently employ a Digital Marketing apprentice and as the EPAO grows we are looking to recruit further apprentices.
The 15th National Apprenticeship Week takes place from 7th – 13th February 2022.
The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 will be ‘build the future’; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

Apprenticeships are historically thought of as something young people did at 16 if they did not go to university, to gain a trade and a Level 2 or 3 qualification. Indeed, one of our Directors, Jeff, gained his qualifications from his early career this way. And that is still one area of apprenticeships. But apprenticeships are now so much more than that. Degree Apprenticeships, Levels 6 and 7, are perfect for someone if they never had the opportunity to go to university. Or, if someone has worked their way up the ladder, but doesn’t have the knowledge to understanding why they work the way they do. With the new apprenticeship standards focusing on knowledge, skills and behaviours, it is a perfect opportunity to deepen understanding and fill in missing gaps.
The new standards have an End Point Assessment, which acts as an independent verification of the learning of the apprentice. Here at SSES we EPA early years, children and young people families’ apprenticeships, validating the decision of the employer and training provider that the apprentice has gained the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to carry out their role.
