We feel one of the benefits of working with SS Educational Services is that we are a small End Point Assessment Organisation with a long background in early years, children, young people and families. On top of that we have Board Members who have extensive experience in apprenticeships and administration. We know we may be considered biased, but we have a strong team across the whole design, deliver, award and administration of our EPAO.
We have our Programme Support Team for Pre-Gateway and the Assessment Team for post-gateway, allowing a clear division of responsibilities and limiting any possibilities for conflicts of interests. Being a small team, everyone knows all our clients, which helps create strong relationships.
Suzanne, our CEO, has worked with children since she gained the renowned NNEB and has been involved in apprenticeships since the mid-nineties. She has owned day nurseries, employed apprentices and set up training provisions for both the private and the apprenticeship sectors.
Jeff is our Finance and Health & Safety, so although not directed involved with the End Point Assessments, ensures the smooth running of SSES behind the scenes. He is also a foster carer and has offered insight into some of the relevant standards.
Jeff and Suzanne have first-hand experience with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and complex special needs through their birth and adopted children. Between this, and their roles as foster carers, they bring a wealth of unique understanding to the standards as an EPAO.
SSES is fortunate to have a Critical Friend on the Board. She has no active involvement with SSES on a day-to-day basis. It is felt she will be better positioned to look at the business with a neutral stance, what is best for the business, rather than being influenced by internal events. Our Critical Friend has strategic planning expertise with an education, governance and apprenticeship background.
The Director of Quality has worked alongside our CEO periodically for many years. The experience she has gained over the past nearly 20 years means Joy is competent and qualified to carry out the role effectively; and here at SSES we were delighted when Joy decided her first Non-Executive Director post would be with us.
Sandra is our Director of Operations, overseeing the general day-to-day running of the business. Her working career includes working at board level for Director’s and CEO’s. Previous duties include working with royalty from the UK and abroad. She has organised high-profile visits for foreign dignitaries, including a private tour and shopping experience for Harrods, so is used to dealing with highly confidential and complex challenges. She says she is a stickler for attention to detail, and ensuring at all times the right protocols, processes and confidentiality are met. We know that the administration of SSES is in safe hands with Sandra.
