Firstly, an apology to our regular readers. Our CEO writes most of our blog posts, and after 2 years of keeping her head down, she finally succumbed to Covid-19.
But we are back now with a packed blog calendar for the month.
Today we would like to talk about the Nursery World Early Years Apprentice of the Year. The Nursery World Awards have been taking place for the past 16 years, but this is a new award acknowledging the tens of thousands of Early Years Apprentices.
SS Educational Services noticed the new category and immediately contacted Nursery World. As the only End Point Assessment Organisation working solely in the early years, children and young people sector, we knew instantly we wanted to be involved in this award.
We are therefore proud to announce SSES are sponsoring this new award. As we have said many times before, we are passionate about the next generation of early years professionals being equipped to help develop the future of our country.
If you would like to nominate an apprentice, the deadline is 17th May and the awards will be announced at a gala event in September. You can find out all about the requirements for the nomination here, as well as the other 2022 Nursery World Awards.
Some of the questions to shortlist include:
- Describe the role of the nominee, their approach to their training and their work, and how they successfully combine the two (up to 300 words)
- Give specific examples of excellent projects/pieces of work produced as part of the apprenticeship. Show how your nominee makes a difference to children, families and/or colleagues with their work in the setting (up to 400 words)
- Why does this nominee deserve to win the award? What makes them a star practitioner of the future? How do they exceed expectations of an early years apprentice? (up to 300 words)
If you would like to know how we support the L2 Early Years Practitioner, L3 Early Years Lead and the L5 Early Years Lead through their End Point Assessments, please email us on contact@sseducationalservices.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
