Meet the Team
Suzanne Sapsed
CEO
I became involved in Apprenticeships back in the 90’s when I employed Apprentices at my day nurseries. Since then I have been actively involved in Apprenticeships, either through teaching or assessing; also through supporting businesses working with Apprentices. At the same time, I maintained a hands-on approach working within the Early Years, Children and Young People sector.
Jeff Sapsed
Financial director
I started off my career completing an Apprenticeship, and then I supported Suzanne in various roles within the day nurseries we owned. In recent years I have also been a foster carer for children 0-18. My role within SSES is to ensure that employers and training providers receive excellent value for money and that we meet our financial obligations to all the relevant stakeholders.
Josh Sapsed
Assessment Team manager
I became interested in working with Early Years growing up when my parents owned day nurseries. I have worked in a primary school, a day nursery, and with foster children for a combined 8 years. I have always had a natural affinity with children and as such love the idea of being able to help new Apprentices on their journey towards working with Early Years, Children and Young People.
Sandra D'Ambrosio
Chief admin manager
For many years during my career I have managed offices in senior roles, and I am looking forward to helping ensure the smooth running of all functions of the business.
Joy Baker
Non-exec director of qa
My name is Joy and I have a wealth of experience within the childcare and healthcare sector. I am a qualified RGN, experienced lecturer, assessor and IQA. In the past I have worked for both local colleges and private training providers. I look forward to being involved in the last step of your Apprenticeship journey.
Anna McMenamin
critical friend
I have a diverse background in education and Apprenticeships and I am currently a Quality and Compliance Manager for Degree Apprenticeships at a university. My role on the board is to critically assess and question the activities of SSES.
Joe Sapsed
Marketing manager
I am a marketing professional, both online and offline. Creating new strategies to improve ROI, and identifying opportunities analytically is what I do for fun.
Alisha Vellenoweth
Trainee Administrator
As the social media and advertising trainee, I am excited to contribute to SSES’ growth by enhancing our online presence and helping us engage with a wider audience. My goal is to create impactful campaigns that effectively raise awareness of our content and appeal to viewers, fostering a stronger connection between SSES and our community.
Our Assessment Team
We have a dedicated team of Independent End-Point Assessors for all our standards, playing a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery of our assessments and a seamless transition from gateway to certification.
SSES feel that the relationship between the employer, the Apprentice, the training provider and SSES is paramount to ensure a positive experience. As a small company and a small team, you can be confident that whenever you contact us, you will be dealing with someone who knows you, your Apprentice and your company. You can refer to us as much or as little as you need to during the process.
